Vesna’s incredible story of survival made headlines around the world and she became a symbol of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. Her fall remains the highest fall without a parachute in recorded history and is considered one of the greatest survival stories of all time.
Despite the notoriety that followed her after the incident, Vesna remained humble and dedicated to her work as a flight attendant. She continued to fly for JAT Yugoslav Airlines until her retirement in the 1990s.
