
The explosion caused the plane to break apart and Vesna was thrown from the wreckage, tumbling towards the ground at over 33,000 feet. Miraculously, she survived the fall and was found unconscious in a snowy field near the Czech-German border.
Vesna was taken to a hospital where she was treated for multiple fractures, including a broken skull and spinal injuries. Despite the severity of her injuries, Vesna made a slow but steady recovery and was eventually able to walk again.
