Nurse Letitia Geer’s invention of the one-handed syringe in 1899 marked a major advancement in medical equipment. Before this revolutionary invention, doctors and nurses had been using two-handed syringes for centuries.
Geer’s invention completely transformed the system with an easy-to-use, single-handed apparatus that is easy to hold, doesn’t slip, and requires only one easy hand movement. Modern-day medicine still uses this syringe to this day.
