After making countless mistakes on her typewriter, Bette Nesmith decided to put some white tempera water-based paint in a bottle and take it to work. Her corrections were never noticed, prompting her to create and patent her famous “Mistake-Out,” Her invention quickly gained popularity among her fellow secretaries, and after further experimentation, she perfected her recipe and created Liquid Paper.
