Rachel Fuller Brown and Elizabeth Lee Hazen: Anti Fungal
The discovery of Nystatin, one of the first effective anti-fungal medicines, was developed by the collaboration of Rachel Fuller Brown and Elizabeth Lee Hazen.
These two researchers form the New York Department of Health lab conducted experiments through the mail, sending samples to each other in mason jars and eventually succeeded in creating a life-saving drug called Nystatin, the first antifungal antibiotic, that is still in use today.
