For his role in Here Comes the Boom, Kevin James underwent an intensive 14-month training regimen to portray a biology teacher who becomes a mixed martial arts fighter to help fund his school. It was during this time that the actor discovered his love for the sport and a whole new lifestyle.
He credits his enjoyment to the skilled MMA athletes who trained with him and their willingness to hold back and not overpower him. This allowed him to fully commit himself to the training and give his all.
