50 Iconic Dresses Throughout The Decades

6. Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pink Ralph Lauren dress (1999)

Adorned in a gorgeous pink dress, Gwyneth Paltrow walked the red carpet at the 1999 Academy Awards, where she won the award for Best Actress for her role in “Shakespeare in Love.” The dress which Ralph Lauren designed was made of luscious pink silk and featured a simple, elegant design with spaghetti straps and a plunging neckline with a high slit.

Paltrow added a matching pink shawl and wore a diamond choker, bracelet, and earrings set, giving her attire a complete look it asked for. The dress received widespread attention and has since become one of the most memorable red carpet-looks of the 1990s.
